Why a Grow Light Needs a Completely Different Number

Foot-candles and lux are weighted to how the human eye perceives brightness, which peaks in the yellow-green part of the spectrum. Plant stems elongate under the control of auxin, a growth hormone that a transport protein called PIN1 normally moves from the shoot down toward the roots.
