Cedar-Apple Rust: The Disease That Needs Two Different Plants
Cedar-apple rust, caused by Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae, can’t complete its life cycle on a juniper alone: it must alternate between a juniper (or eastern red cedar) and an apple or crabapple every year.
